The purpose of assessment is to improve teaching and learning. Assessing and Grading function separately. After this course, I better understand the construction of rubrics and how to create an authentic assessment of skill and knowledge. Rather than using these assessments to grade the students, they should be used to guide my teaching. By understanding student progress, I can better construct lessons and units.
