"If you never change your mind, why have one?"
Edward deBono
Throughout my student teaching experience I have learned to reflect, question, re-imagine, re-mold, reconsider, listen, think critically, and laugh through it all. With a positive mindset and an open mind, I have become more comfortable with myself, my learning, my teaching, and my thinking. My time at Chapin has given me much practice with self-reflection in order to question my own strategies and learn from success as well as mistakes. I encourage this same sort of learning to my students.
In my lessons, we use prior knowledge to problem solve for new issues and to move forward in our learning. In a positive and encouraging environment, students are motivated to keep trying and be persistent in their efforts toward success. Through communication and imagination students can become flexible, lifelong learners.
